Friday Feat: Epic Step-Up Dyno!

Yoshiyuki Ogata, from Japan, at the 2019 Bloc Shop Open, where he took first place. The 22-year-old hails from Yokohama, Japan, and he began bouldering at the age of 10 after seeing the sport on TV. By 16, he was competing on the international state. Ogata won his first world cup last year in Vail.

“I always try not to think about results too much,” he told Gym Climber in an interview last year. “I just keep smiling and enjoy climbing. And luckily there are many strong climbers in Japan,” who provide camaraderie and motivation during training sessions.
